Additional information

Vitamins and trace elements are involved in numerous processes in the human body, and therefore correct intake through the daily diet is crucial. For example, certain vitamins and trace elements support our immune system, others play a role in the body's energy supply or in the functioning of the nervous system. That is why a correct intake of these nutrients is also indispensable for athletes. However, this does not mean that intensive exercise increases the need for vitamins and trace elements.

There is a consensus in the scientific literature that the daily requirement of vitamins and trace elements can be achieved through a healthy and varied diet. The daily intake of a multivitamin is therefore not necessary, and therefore does not have to be taken "preventively". Even if a specific deficiency of one specific vitamin is determined, for example through a blood analysis, it is not appropriate to remedy this with a multivitamin, but with a targeted supplement for this specific vitamin.

In certain situations, however, it is advisable for athletes to increase the daily intake of vitamins and minerals by taking a multivitamin. This could include prolonged periods of a strict diet to lose weight, where food intake is reduced to such an extent that insufficient vitamins and trace elements are also absorbed. The same applies when food intake is insufficiently varied, for example in case of nutritional intolerances, or during long-term extremely high-carbohydrate diets, or low-carb, high-fat diets ("ketogenic" diets), or during prolonged periods of travel to countries with an inadequate or limited food supply.

In summary, a multivitamin is preferably only used as a supplement to the daily diet, and should therefore certainly not be overdosed. Taking vitamins and minerals in doses that exceed the recommended daily allowance (RDA) is pointless and can even be harmful. In the case of antioxidants (vitamin C and E), higher doses can also suppress training adaptations, both in endurance training and strength training, and thus reduce training yield.

For this reason, the "6d MULTI VITAMIN" contains 100% of the RDA of all vitamins and most minerals. The scientific formula has been composed so that all ingredients are added in an easily absorbable form. Because iron, calcium and magnesium inhibit each other's absorption in the intestine when taken simultaneously, these minerals are absent in the "6d MULTI VITAMIN". If necessary, a separate supplement can be taken, such as "6d IRON FERROCHEL®".
